Arlington Airport’s New Restaurant Is Open

San Juan Island Pilots have a good new place to go for lunch. I flew to Arlington Airport on Sunday — Memorial Day Weekend — and had a $10 cheeseburger (not counting the $100 it cost to get there) at the new Ellie’s at the Airport.

I got a friendly greeting when I walked in, and I got the impression that this is a real operation. This is the second Ellie’s in Arlington. The original has a robust following, so we’re talking about an experienced operator.

They remodeled the site of the previous restaurant and did a good job of it. They installed new booths, tables and chairs. The decor is pleasantly simple and uncluttered.

The menu is standard fare – ham & eggs, burgers, and sandwiches. Their specialties include a Hawaiian Barbecue Pork sandwich, a huge Paul Bunyan Burger, and Blueberry Pancakes. Their hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM daily.

The staff is friendly and efficient; and judging from my cheeseburger and fries, the food is good.
